The One Thing

Any vaccine is better than no vaccine!

HABIB is strongly advocating for Malaysians to do The One Thing: Get Vaccinated. This campaign aims to promote and encourage the Malaysian population to get themselves vaccinated in the hopes to fight and curb the spread of COVID-19. Dato’ Sri Meer Habib, Executive Chairman of HABIB Group emphasized that “The only way out of the Covid-19 crisis is for Malaysians to be vaccinated. All around the world, people want to be vaccinated. It does not matter what vaccine you get; because any vaccine is better than no vaccine. By doing so, we are not only adding that layer of protection for ourselves, but also for our family, friends and subsequently our community”.

The number of active cases in Malaysia, especially in Selangor have consistently recorded an all-time high despite being in the Full Movement Control Order (FMCO) that was implemented since 1st June 2021. Although there have been various efforts by the government of Malaysia in curbing the spread of the virus through stringent SOP’s and substantial National Recovery Plan, HABIB strongly continues to advocate everyone getting registered and vaccinated in the nearest foreseeable future. If we look to countries with high vaccination rate, there is a correlation of number of cases that has dropped vs the number of population that has been vaccinated.

In the United States alone, 48% of the population have been fully vaccinated, and we can see a tremendous drop in new cases from the beginning of 2021.

As the government ramps up the number of vaccines administere, with 14 million vaccines arriving in August, we hope everyone plays their role in ensuring they register and turn up for their appointments. As at May 31, YB Khairy Jamaluddin, who heads the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme reported that 1 out of 5 people do not turn up for their vaccination appointment. It is key to offer help to your neighbours, elderly, to register, or send them to the vaccination center if they require assistance.

As a company, HABIB is registered on SELangkah and Public-Private Partnership Covid-19 Industry Immunization Programmed (PIKAS) in order to speed up the vaccination process across the organization. HABIB is committed in getting all our employees fully vaccinated.

HABIB’s The One Thing campaign will run across its social media platforms within the next several months, where the brand will continuously educate and engage audiences’ participation through educational content sharing as well as social media challenge. In ensuring it’s The One Thing campaign is rolled out successfully, a myriad of effort have been planned and executed by HABIB.

This is what we need to achieve as a nation. Let’s do The One Thing,  get vaccinated.
